The KTM 450 EXC has been sitting, unused in the garage, for 8 months. Ever since I broke my foot, the bike has been idle. Even before that, I hadn’t ridden the thing in about a month due to a corroded exhaust. It seems that the race fuel I use doesn’t get along with H2O and aluminum. The FMF silencer I bought only a year and a half ago rotted out! I was pissed, but what could I do?

I placed an order on the FMF web site for their new Q4 (That’s “Quiet Series 4&rdquo pipe many months ago. But FMF never had the guts to call me to tell me they never planned on manufacturing the thing (I guess my model year is unique). I finally cancelled the order when I found an amazing deal on eBay. Seems a company in California got a deal on the closeout stock of another shop. THis included a $900 Leo Vince KTM exhaust system for my year of motorcycle! And they only wanted $200 for it! This is a seriously nice exhaust. All stainless steel. Perfectly fitted. And pretty darn quiet to boot. I guess I have to consider myself lucky
