Wrong turn

My Sister’s birthday went like clockwork. Trout fishing (Cheater style) started the day at the U-Fish. 12 small trout signaled a potentially awesome dinner! After the fishing, and a little bit of golf, we headed for the usual birthday spot at the Lake Kachess camp ground.
Wandering around the camp ground is always a blast. The whole gang decided to attempt to cut off a bit of trail by crossing the stream. It didn’t work out very well. The birthday girl almost took a header into the stream... But not befor Zinky (The dog).

On the other side, of course we got a bit lost...
not long after, we finally caught up with the gang and proceeded to watch the kids and Zinky make fools of themselves in various dangerous ways...

The rock climber among us even attempted to show off her newfound skills. It was a spectacle!
We had fun watching from our perch high above of course...

Once back at camp, Zink settled in (in her usual cool manner):

And we feasted!!

Yes, he does look a bit insane. But can you blame anyone with a spread like this?

Wasn’t this a birthday? Of course it was. Here’s the proof!

Happy Birthday sis!

Unfortunately, everyone had to leave. I was on vacation though, so I decided to stick around for the night. Mototcycle camping is really one of my favorite things to do so I set up the tent and settled in for the night.

On my way out of the camp site, I had two options. Take a right and head home. Or take a left on I-90 and see what happens. Well, I didn't have any thing better to do, so I opted for the unknown. I like to claim it was a wrong turn,m of which I only noticed once I had arrived in Lake Chelan. But that just makes me look dumb.
Why? Because lake Chelan is 200 miles from the camp site.
Oh well, I was in it for the lang haul.
A stump along I-97 that I was sure was staring at me. No, it's not a deer... it's just a stump.

A cool picture of the Entiat river headed into Wenatchee.

A cool picture of 42 in Entiat.

After passing through Lake Chelan and on up to Methow (Yes... I was really going the long way around), I started across the mountain loop Highway. I've never ridden that rout and I can say now, it's a haul! Easily some of the most beautiful terrain anywhere.
Crossing the Pacific Crest trail.
